The Viessmann Foundation, established in 2020, has the mission statement: "Shaping sustainable living spaces for future generations together – with everything we do." Three fields of action are derived from this motto: Sustainable Living Spaces, Future Generations and: Bringing out the best in all of us.
We live the principle of co-creation and work together with internal and external partners on the various topics, thus enabling greater results than would be possible on our own. The sustainable living spaces area ("Living Spaces") addresses sustainability projects, in particular to mitigate man-made climate change and develop climate-positive solutions. The task area Future Generations ("Generations to Come") focuses on national and international projects in the field of education and training for children and young people, and equally on projects that serve the well-being and further development of future generations. In addition, with the approach of bringing out the best in all of us ("Best in all of us"), opportunities are created for training and further education in professional life. In this way, the Viessmann Foundation is aligned with the purpose of the Viessmann Group and, through regional and international projects, creates a wide range of opportunities to make the world a little better.
The Viessmann Allendorf Foundation was founded by Viessmann Werke, the contributor to the foundation capital was Karl Johann Viessmann. The foundation’s tasks are many and varied. Among other things, it sets out to promote science and research, public health care, education and vocational training, and student support. It promotes art and culture, and the protection of historical monuments is also close to the foundation’s heart. In addition, the foundation supports the conservation of nature and the countryside, the preservation of local heritage, and sports. The foundation also supports charitable and church purposes. The Chairman of the foundation’s Board is Professor Dr. Martin Viessmann, and his deputy is Annette Viessmann. The other members are Dr. Manfred Schlappig, Prof. Dr. Markus Pfuhl, Max Viessmann and Jörg Lenz.
The foundation promotes among others projects that support sick and mentally or physically disabled people as well as people suffering economic hardship, especially when children are involved. The foundation’s Board decides on project funding at its twice-yearly meetings. Most of the foundation’s activities focus on the regions of Allendorf (Eder), Battenberg, and Frankenberg, as well as at the Viessmann Group’s other German sites.

The aim of the Dr. Hans Vießmann Foundation is the promotion of culture, particularly monument preservation, as well as education and science. In addition, it pursues social purposes, especially in the field of child, youth, and elderly welfare. The foundation’s activities focus largely on the town and region of Hof, where the company was founded by Johann Viessmann in 1917. His son, Dr. Hans Viessmann, felt connected to the town and the region, its people, and the social and cultural institutions and historic buildings in Hof throughout his life.To safeguard his charitable activities in this region for the long term beyond his lifetime, he dedicated part of his assets to this foundation.
The foundation is represented by the Board consisting of Dr. Manfred Petri (Chairman) and Ralph Schmidt. They are also members of the foundation’s Board of Trustees, which also includes Annette Friedrich, Rupprecht von Reitzenstein (Chairman), and his deputy Johannes Scheruhn.
