Plant engineering specialist SAB Holding takes over Holzfeuerungsanlagen GmbH
The plant engineering specialist SAB Holding headquartered in Schwarzach has acquired the shares of Holzfeuerungsanlagen GmbH (“HFA”) in Hard from the Viessmann Group. Both parties announced an agreement to this effect today. The acquisition is subject to approval by the antitrust authorities. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
Allendorf (Eder), Jul 7, 2020 – HFA was originally founded in 1975 under the name “Mawera”. The company based in Vorarlberg specializes in the development and construction of large, industrial biomass boiler systems and is an expert service partner for more than 3 000 customers in the biomass sector worldwide. The Viessmann Group acquired Mawera’s business in 2006 and has since then continuously expanded its customer base.
The acquisition of HFA by SAB Holding will bring numerous advantages for the customers of both companies. Viessmann’s partners will continue to benefit from the leading manufacturer of climate solutions’ integrated range of products. The company will still offer innovative, carbon-neutral system solutions for all energy sources. In turn, SAB Holding will use the Viessmann Group’s global sales strength and reach as well as its long-standing partnerships to further develop its global business and pursue a targeted expansion of customer services.
“The merger of HFA and SAB Holding is a win-win situation for everyone involved. It guarantees a seamless transition in terms of products, service, and spare parts supply. The new merger therefore creates a sustainable outlook for all customers, partners, and HFA employees for the long term,” says Joachim Janssen, Co-CEO of the Viessmann Group.
As part of the transaction, HFA CEO Peter Mender will continue the operational business with the aim of expanding the customer base even further. There is a clear growth strategy for this and therefore a safeguarding of the 90 jobs existing in Hard.
