Viessmann Generations Group invests in sustainability software company AMCS alongside EQT to improve recycling and lower emissions
The investment reaffirms Viessmann’s purpose of "co-creating living spaces for generations to come" by supporting technologies and innovations that drive progress towards a sustainable future.
December 12, 2024 – The Viessmann Generations Group ("Viessmann"), a purpose-driven, family-owned business with 107 years of heritage, invested alongside global private equity firm EQT in AMCS, a global leader in sustainability software for foundational industries. This strategic partnership aims to amplify AMCS' efficiency and innovation, helping reduce CO₂ emissions and accelerating the shift towards a circular economy. The co-founder, management, and other existing investors — including former majority investor Insight Partners, as well as Clearlake Capital, Highland Europe, and the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund — will maintain minority stakes.
AMCS, founded in 2003 and headquartered in Ireland, has established itself as a global market leader in sustainability software, supporting over 3,800 customers across 80 countries.Their cloud-based Performance Sustainability Suite serves as a complete operating system for resource-intensive industries, offering advanced solutions for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), recycling, transportation logistics, and compliance in Environmental, Health, Safety, and Governance (EHSQ and ESG). The demand for sustainable solutions in the waste and recycling industry has never been more urgent: over two billion tons of waste are generated globally each year (1), resulting in one billion tons of CO₂ emissions (2) — accounting for 3.2 percent of global emissions (3).
