Viessmann Generations Group: Peter Leibinger joins as new member of the Board of Directors

22 November 2024 – The Viessmann Generations Group ("Viessmann"), a purpose-driven family company with a heritage of 107 years, announces the appointment of Dr.-Ing. E.h. Peter Leibinger as a non-executive member to its Board of Directors.

Peter Leibinger (57) is a German engineer and manager with a passion for innovation. As a member of the owner family of TRUMPF SE + Co. KG, a global leader in laser technology and engineering, he has held various executive positions, including Chief Technology Officer of the TRUMPF Group as well as CEO of the Laser Technology and Electronics division. Since 2023, he has chaired TRUMPF’s Supervisory and Administrative Board.
Recently, Leibinger was also nominated to serve as President of the Federation of German Industries (BDI). Beyond his corporate roles, Peter Leibinger is actively involved in various political, scientific, and cultural organizations, including as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Federal Agency for Disruptive Innovation (SPRIND).
Leibinger’s career is marked by a strong commitment to forward-thinking technologies and their industrial application, especially in CO₂ reduction and efficiency enhancement.
His appointment to the Viessmann Board of Directors underscores Viessmann’s commitment to fostering innovative solutions that make a positive impact in the fight against climate change, in collaboration with a large ecosystem of medium-sized market leaders and family-owned businesses.
Through strategic acquisitions, co-investments, and minority stakes, the family-owned company specifically supports industries that drive sustainability. Key areas of focus include CO₂ reduction, avoidance, and capture, as well as the preservation of air, water, and food quality.
